To get to Alonissos, you will have to take a ferry from Volos port. Volos is connected to Athens via KTEL bus. The nearest airport is located on Skiathos island. Ferry connections between Alonissos and other islands are available, including Skiathos, Skopelos, Skyros and Evia (during the summer season).

If you are in the mood for a quick trip, you can get a boat from Patitiri, the island’s port, to the Marine Park of Northern Aegean. This park consists of small islets surrounded by emerald waters, where the rare seal species monachus-monachus breed. Many visitors combine their holidays to the island with volunteer work and study in the Marine Park of Northern Aegean.

Thanks to its proximity to the rest of the islands of the Sporades, Alonissos island is a great base for island hopping to nearby destinations, such as Skopelos or Skyros!

  • Chora village
    Constructed on top of a hill with amazing view to the Aegean Sea, Chora is the old capital of Alonissos. It was partly abandoned after a severe earthquake in 1965.
  • Agios Dimitrios beach
    Located on the northern side of Alonissos, Agios Dimitrios is a pebbled beach with crystal waters. This is a lovely and organized place to enjoy a day at the sun.
  • Day cruise to Marine Park
    In summer there are day cruises from the port of Patitiri in Alonissos to the Marine Park of Northern Aegean, a protected region with uninhabited islands.

    Located on the southern side of Alonissos and close to Patitiri, the beach of Chrissi Milia is sandy and has amazing waters.

    Tzortzi Gialos beach is located close to Patitiri, the port of the island. This is a long beach with small white pebbles and crystal waters.
