Kos International Airport "Hippocrates" receives domestic flights all year round mainly from Athens. Flights from Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Heraklion and Astypalea are carried out frequently, too.
During summer, the airport is connected with some European countries as well. The flight time from Athens to Kos is estimated around 1 hour.
Upon your arrival, it is a nice idea to use a car or take a taxi for your transfer, since the airport is located 24 km away from Kos Town.
In any case, there is also a public bus that carries out routes between the airport and Kos Town. You will find its bus stop really close to the airport's entrance, about 50 meters away.

Travel by Ferry

You can easily reach Kos by ferry from Piraeus port in Athens, as there are available routes about 4 times per week. However, the trip lasts approximately 11 hours.
Apart from Athens, Kos is also connected by ferry with Rhodes, Patmos, Leros, and Kalymnos. Patmos is the closest island to Kos and the ferry route between those two destinations takes 2 to 3 hours. There are also some ferry routes that link Kos with Bodrum in Turkey. Also, note that Kos has 2 ports.
