In brief, Kefalonia has an international airport that receives flights from Athens as well as many cities from abroad.

The airport of Kefalonia (EFL) is located around 8 km away from the capital of the island, Argostoli.
Its alternative name is Anna Pollatou.
It is connected directly with the International Airport of Athens, as well as several other airports across Europe.
It was constructed in 1971 but was renovated in 2019.

Flights

Anna Pollatou receives flights from both mainland Greece and abroad.
Regarding domestic flights, planes to Kefalonia depart from the International Airport of Athens. The two airlines that serve the route are Olympic Air/Aegean Airlines and Sky Express. The flight duration is about 50 minutes from Athens.
Additionally, numerous foreign countries are connected with the island via flights, including the UK, Italy and Austria.

Public buses

The airport is connected to Argostoli via public bus routes (KTEL) that are daily during the summer. The buses' starting point lies to the left of the entrance of the Terminal Station.
After arriving at the main station in the capital, you can board another bus and head to several locations across the island, including Fiscardo, Sami, Agia Efimia and Poros.
Note: Itineraries to and from the airport start in May and stop around October. If you plan on visiting the island in the shoulder or low season, make sure to contact the bus station in advance and ask them about the route.
A bus reaches the Terminal Station every 1.5 hours every day, but itineraries may increase during the high season.
All buses provide passengers with luggage storage space at no additional cost.

Transfers & Taxis

A taxi rank is situated outside the building, but you may have to wait to get in one if you visit Kefalonia during summer.
