wolfme 27 Oct 2008Cute little MyrinaMyrina is the capital village of Lemnos. Not a very tourist place, which makes it very attractive. Myrina is a cute little town, peaceful and relaxing. You will not see many vehicles or crowded avenues, which was a nice surprise for us. The waterfront is great for walking and has good fish taverns at descent prices. We stayed at studio Artemis, a marvelous old but renovated house with very friendly staff. Definitely recommended for a nice stay. Even the beaches around Myrina were great and calm. What just bothered us was the trip to Lemnos: too long (it lasted about 15 hours or so from Piraeus) and the ship was quite old. However, the island is a great place to be on your vacations. You can combine it with the close island of Lesvos, which is what we did.
