Grotta Naxos: Grotta is actually a neighbourhood of Naxos Town. It is located on the northern side of the town, in a walking distance from Kastro castle and the port.
Also, the location of Grotta gives a good view of Portara and the Aegean Sea.

The beach in front of Grotta is not actually a place to swim. As it is very rocky and frequently affected by strong summer winds, this is a good place to go for snorkelling rather than swimming.
Also, in summer, some urchins find shelter among the rocks making it a bit dangerous.
There are many different ways to get to Grotta from any location on the island. Airport to Grotta: 4 km / 2.4 miles | Port to Grotta: 0.5 km / 0.3 miles | Chora to Grotta: 0.5 km / 0.3 miles
Private transfers: We recommend using an online pre-booked transfer service, which provides transfer by taxi, minibus or private VIP car and arranging a pickup directly from the port, airport or your hotel. Car rental: Τhere’s the option of renting a car with as little as 15 euros per day and pick it up directly from the airport, port or your hotel. Using a car rental allows visitors to discover Grotta beach and many other places of interest at their own pace.
Public transfers: The bus station is located on the port of Naxos. You can arrive at the port by bus from almost any area of the island and walk to Grotta beach since it is a 5-minute walk away. Consider that time schedules might change according to the season. Check the official timetables here. Tip: Since buses don’t always stop in every scheduled stop of their itinerary, our advice to visitors is to inform the driver about their final destination, so that he makes a stop there.
