Chora is the capital village of Amorgos and distinguishes for its traditional architecture, with the white houses and the nice view of the sea. The other two main villages are Aegialis and Katapola, which also constitute the main tourist resorts of the island. Many hotels and accommodation are located in these villages.

Location: 18 km south of Chora
Description: Kalofana is an agricultural village on the southern side of the island. The whitewashed houses are decorated according to the traditional style with colorful gardens.
Location: 18 km south east of Chora
Description: This is not actually a village anymore but a small settlement. Most houses are ruined and abandoned in Kalotaritissa, which has a permanent population of 40 residents.
Location: 11 km from Chora
Description: Vroutsis is a small village located on a hill at the southeast of Amorgos. It is inhabited only by a handful of people who are mainly involved with fishing and cattle-breeding.
