Amorgos Katapola

General information

Katapola in Amorgos: Katapola is the main port of Amorgos. This beautiful region is divided into three settlements called Katapola, Rahidi and Xilokeratidi.

Katapola occupies a large bay and is situated in the most verdant part of the island. An ancient Minoan site and a Mycenaean cemetery lie above the port.

Being the main port, Katapola offers accommodations, restaurants, nice bars and cafes. In fact, Katapola and Aegiali are the most tourist-developed spots in Amorgos.

The port of Katapola hosts the Psimeni Raki Festival which takes place on July 26th. Hundreds of people gather and dance, drink and eat for hours!
