Location: Menetes Don't miss: Museums guide (free admission dates and other useful info)
The beautiful village of Menetes has a rich history, having been inhabited since the 14th century AD. While a walk through its small alleyways and traditional houses reveals much of the area’s storied past, those wanting to dive deeper into the history of Menetes should not miss out on visiting the small Ethnographic museum, known as the Folklore Museum of the village.
Located next to the parking lot of Menetes, the Folklore Museum is small in size but houses a large variety of historical exhibits. An interesting collection of archaeological findings, pottery, sculptures, and icons from the area is on display. Visitors will get to learn about aspects of Karpathian history and folk tradition through old photographs, textiles, traditional art, and musical instruments. Remains from several Neoclassical buildings are also prominently showcased.
