On the first day on the island, visit Zakynthos Town, the capital and busiest village on the island. This town has a beautiful architecture that is influenced by the Venetian and Neoclassical styles, old remain of the foreign rules till the middle 19th century. The spacious Solomos Square is the center of the town. On the south side of this square, you can visit the interesting Byzantine Museum of Zakynthos.
Later on, take from the port the boat that makes the tour of the island. These excursion boats go north to the Blue Caves and then continue to Navagio (the Shipwreck) Beach, the world-famous and most impressive beach on the island. Although this beach will surely be crowded, especially in high season, you will certainly have the time to swim before you continue the trip. In the evening, when you have returned to the town, walk to Bohali, the most picturesque and lush neighborhood on a hill above the town with great views to the port.

On the second day, go swimming in the most popular beach on the island, Laganas, located 10 km south of the capital. This spot is the most touristically developed place on Zakynthos and it gets very popular with British tourists. The large beach is sandy and it constitutes a shelter for the rare species Caretta-Caretta sea turtle to lay its eggs.
A few km south of Laganas, there is Keri, a much quieter beach with a lot of tourist facilities. From Keri, you can take the boat to Marathonisi, a closeby pristine islet. Excursion boats are frequent all day long. On your way back in the afternoon, pass by Maherado, a mountainous traditional village, typical of the villages in Zakynthos.
1st and 2nd days as described above.
The third day, head off to the south of Zakynthos Town to swim in some of the most popular beaches of the island. The first stop is Argassi, a popular tourist resort. Continue coast by coast and you will meet Porto Zoro, an impressive small beach with rock formations in the sea. A bit southern is Porto Roma, equally beautiful on the first sight but less crowded. The route ends in Vasilikos, a tourist village, and Gerakas, another impressive and organized beach.
