Kythnos Nightlife

Nightlife in Kythnos: Find out where to spend the night!

In brief, the nightlife in Kythnos is moderately lively.
The main options for a night out are the local tavernas, some restaurants, and many bars. Those are found in the busiest villages.

Kythnos is a quiet island that despite the tourist development has maintained the general climate of the Greek island, which is why you won't find big clubs or fancy restaurants there. The main destinations for a night out are the tavernas and restaurants, as well as the bars. In fact, many shops operate as cafes in the morning and bars in the evening.

Merichas, and especially the promenade in front of the port, is the liveliest part of the island. You will find restaurants and café-bars overlooking the sea along the whole length of the street. In the bars, after about 11 o'clock, the mood prevails, with music playing loudly until sunrise. A similar situation prevails in the Loutra but in a milder tone. There are many café-bars and ouzeri opposite the marina, but the tones are not as intense as in Merichas, with the music being more atmospheric. In Kanala, which is also a seaside village, most dining and drinking options are on or near Megali Ammos Beach.
On the other side of the village, towards Panagia Kanala and Antonides Beach, there are some small tavernas.

Chora and Driopida, the two largest villages of Kythnos, are located at elevated points on the central vertical axis of the island and have a calmer nightlife than the coastal settlements. In Chora, you will find several modern bars all concentrated on the two main streets that run through the settlement. Finally, Driopida is perhaps the quietest place of the five. In fact, you will encounter more life during the day than at night.
