Folegandros is a very small island with a dramatic landscape known for its picturesque Kastro settlement, the church of Panagia with the panoramic view, remote small beaches and its laid-back atmosphere. The two main villages are Chora, the capital and Karavostasi, the port. On the island, there are also some very small villages like the settlement of Agali which is built near the homonymous beach and Ano Meria which is a rural mainland village where locals had their fields and bred their animals.

Chora and Karavostasi is where the vast majority of hotels are found on the island.
