Mets Neighborhood in Athens: Mets is a beautiful neighborhood in Athens, located behind Kallimarmaro Stadium, also known as the Panathenaic Stadium.
It has taken its name from the brasserie that Charles Fix, the son of Yohan Fix, owner of the homonymous Greek brewery, had opened in 1872, named Mets.
Metz is a town in France where the last battle between the French and the Germans took place in 1871. Charles Fix named his brewery after the victory of the Germans over the French and the elegant neighborhood is now called Mets.

The historic district of Mets is known for its sophisticated atmosphere and its beautiful neoclassical architecture.

Moving on from the historical background, in this neighborhood, time seems to have stopped, allowing you to get a glimpse of the past of Athens and its former days.
