Zakynthos Church of Agios Markos

Agios Markos (Saint Mark) Church of Zakynthos is the only Catholic church on the island. It is located in the center of Zakynthos Town, on the historic square of Agios Markos.
You will find it next to a beautiful clock tower and the Solomos Museum, a building with a similar design.

The church was constructed in 1518 but due to the consequences of the earthquake of 1953, it had to be reconstructed. These days, the church has a much more simple design compared to the original temple.

The church is only open during the summer. Occasionally, small-scale concerts are organized there.
