Discover our interactive Map of Patmos!
Patmos is among the southernmost islands of the Dodecanese complex. Despite its small size (34 square kilometers), it is quite renowned thanks to it being "the island of the Apocalypse" and hosting the cave where John the Evangelist wrote the Book of Revelation and the imposing monastery dedicated to him. Hence, it comes as no surprise that Patmos is an ideal destination for religious tourism, welcoming thousands of pilgrims annually. Except for its points of religious interest though, one will encounter beaches with stunning azure waters and many lovely restaurants, cafes, and accommodations!
Where is Patmos? Patmos lies 145 nautical miles from Piraeus (Athens). The closest islands to it are Lipsi, Arki and Marathi.
The island doesn't have an airport, and its main port is located in Skala. Ferries connect Patmos Port with several islands, especially during the summer when itineraries become more frequent.
This section proposes a map of Patmoswith all the major locations of the island.
