Nisyros Local products

The main local product of Nisyros is soumada, a non-alcoholic drink made from almonds. This drink is quite popular with locals and tourists. Other products of Nisyros include the honey available on the island, baby tomatoes, a unique and scrumptious variety, as well as caper.

Very popular is also the cheese krasotyri, meaning wine cheese. This is a sun-dried cheese which stays in a brine of boiled vinegar and salt or a mixture of boiled wine, vinegar, and salt.
