Kos Kefalos

General information

Kefalos Village Kos: Kefalos is a beautiful town in Kos lying on the slopes of a hill, 40 km south west of the main town. It was the first capital of Kos and today it reaches a population of 2500 inhabitants.

Houses are built close to each other forming a labyrinth of narrow alleys, a feature that characterizes the traditional Greek islands. One of the most interesting sites in Kefalos is the Folklore Museum which portrays the rural way of life in the past years, the ruins of Christian Basilica of Agios Stefanos and the picturesque islet opposite the port.

The village has a well-developed tourist infrastructure with plenty of accommodations without losing its authentic character. The crystalline beach attracts many visitors with numerous tourist facilities and a nice environment to enjoy swimming and sunbathing.
