Location: Alithini

The imposing church of Agia Paraskevi in Syros is a large Byzantine-style church building with a large dome! Boasting a gate entrance, its paved terrace has plenty of shaded spots for visitors, as well as some seating areas and an impressive bell tower! Moreover, given its high altitude, one can enjoy the stunning views it offers over the countryside and the town of Ermoupoli!

Inside the church, guests will witness lots of hung icons paired with arrays of chairs, large candelabras, a chandelier, and a baptismal font right at the center of the altar! Despite being constructed in 1600, after its more recent reworks and renovations, Agia Paraskevi Church has whitewashed walls with no frescoes.

Since the church is privately owned, it is not open for daily mass and liturgies. However, the Church of Agia Paraskevi is perfect for a tailor-made wedding event, given that it is one of the most popular wedding destinations on the island!

The church celebrates on the 26th of July, where food, dance, and other festivities are open to the public.
