Travel by Ferry from Athens, Santorini, Mykonos & more

You can travel to Naxos by ferry from many islands of the Aegean sea.
To begin with, there is a regular ferry connection between Naxos and Athens ports. Ferries depart from Piraeus, Rafina, and Lavrio ports. Rafina and Lavrio ports are located closer to Eleftherios Venizelos airport, while Piraeus port is closer to the city center.
In each case, the trip lasts from 4 to 9 hours depending on whether your ferry is conventional or high-speed and the route it follows. The most popular ferry route to Naxos is from the port of Piraeus.

Naxos is also connected with many Cyclades islands, like Santorini, Paros, Mykonos, Amorgos, Tinos, and many more.
There is also a local express ferry, known as Skopelitis, which carries out routes between Naxos, Amorgos, and the islands of Small Cyclades (Koufonisia, Donoussa, Schinoussa, and Iraklia) approximately six times per week.

How to get to Naxos from Athens?
You can use a ferry from the main ports of Athens (Piraeus, Rafina, and Lavrio). There is a daily ferry from Athens (Piraeus) to Naxos all year round. During the high season, all three ports serve regular routes to and from Naxos. Alternatively, you can fly directly from the International Airport of Athens. You can only start from Athens as the airport of Naxos is small and only receives domestic flights.

How to get to Naxos from abroad (London, Paris, and other capitals)?
There are no direct flights to Naxos from abroad. You need to fly to Athens and either board a domestic flight directly to Naxos or take the ferry afterward. Depending on where you live, you can also fly to Paros, Santorini, or Mykonos and then take a short ferry to Naxos. According to the time of the flight and ferry, an overnight stay on those islands might be needed.
Note that ferries might be delayed, especially in the summer.
