Nightlife in Lassithi: Discover where to go for dinner, a drink, or a party!
The prefecture of Lassithi is the most peaceful region of Crete in terms of nightlife, which consists mainly of upbeat bars concentrated in the tourist resorts of Elounda, Agios Nikolaos, Sissi and Sitia. At night, some of these bars double as cubs, where you can dance the night away to the sound of the lively music played by great DJs.
The heart of the region's nightlife beats in Agios Nikolaos, which offers a nice assortment of bars where you can sip delicious cocktails while enjoying the stunning views of the port and the unique Sea Lake. Agios Nikolaos has something to satisfy all tastes, from the refined Peripou Live Music Bar, which often hosts concerts and art events to Rob's Corner, an Irish pub with a true Celtic ambiance. Visitors will also find rock bars, roof gardens where they can enjoy a romantic night out under the starry sky, wine bistros, and more vibrant venues, like Kimzu Sea Lounge. If you're looking for noisy parties, though, the Bajamar is just the place to go.
Elounda has a vibrant nightlife as well, with popular bars that are transformed into discos by night. For example, the centrally located Alyggos Bar vibrates to the sound of dance music till the early hours of the morning. A handful of buzzing bars and nightclubs can also be found in Sitia.
In the rest of Lassithi, there may not be any clubs, but there are some nice lounge bars that play soft music till 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning. For a more peaceful night, you can just have a long dinner in one of the many taverns around the prefecture and sample delicious local recipes accompanied by exquisite wine or raki. The best places for an unforgettable gastronomic experience are scattered around the quaint villages of the breathtaking Lassithi Plateau.
