The
Monastery of Agios Nikolaos and the one of Agios Mamas
are also a nice destination for the day and have beautiful
icons and religious items.
A walk around the fine cobblestone streets of the town
will charm every visitor as he will discover some fine
Venetian buildings and various fine example of the traditional
architecture.
For the more sportive ones, a walk or a bicycle ride through
the verdant and thick pine forest will be a delightful
excursion for the day.
Reaching the highest spot of the island, Mount Profitis
Ilias, is also a superb excursions that can be effectuated
by foot, bicycle or motorbike; those who will do that
will be rewarded by a breath-taking panoramic view over
the island, the sea, the Peloponnese and the neighbouring
islands.
Regular taxi-boats are leaving for day excursions to the
many beautiful beaches of Spetses and regular Flying Dolphins
are departing from Dapia for day excursions to the neighbouring
islands of Hydra and Poros as well as for the coast of
the Peloponnese.
