Skiathos Cultural Events

Every July and August, many cultural events take place in Bourtzi, the small verdant peninsula at the entrance of Skiathos Port. These events are organized by the Municipality of Skiathos and are held at the small open-air theater of Bourtzi, as well as in the cultural center of Skiathos, which is housed inside a nice neoclassical building.

Varying from year to year, the program includes theatrical performances, concerts, dance shows, lectures, and art exhibitions. Most events are held in Greek but, occasionally, there are some in English so that they can be understood by tourists. In either case, visitors will find events that afford a unique glimpse into the local culture, while the idyllic setting alone is a reason to visit the Bourtzi cultural nights.
