Though Skiathos Port does not receive ferries from Athens, it is connected with mainland Greece throughout the year through the seaside town of Volos. Moreover, it is regularly connected to the islands of Skopelos and Alonissos, which also belong to the Sporades complex, while, during the summer months, it additionally receives ferries from Thessaloniki and Mantoudi village in Evia.
The ferry companies that operate these routes, using either conventional or high-speed vessels, are Sea Jets and ANES Ferries. During the high season (May to September), ferry crossings are more frequent, being available on a daily basis.
