Hydra is an island in the heart of the Saronic Gulf, and it is an excellent choice for a short trip from Athens, as it is only 68 kilometers from the Greek capital. The port of Hydra is situated right next to the main town, and it receives direct connections from the port of Piraeus in Athens, from two other Saronic islands (Poros and Spetses), as well as from Porto Heli and Ermioni in the Peloponnese.
