Open since October 2017, the Museum of Angelos Sikelianos in Lefkada is welcoming everyone that wants to take a look at its exhibits of high importance! Hosted inside an old house of the “light-shadowed” poet, the museum is dedicated to showcasing the backstory, the day-to-day life, and the highlighted moments of the revered Lefkadian poet Angelos Sikelianos!

The museum has a plethora of unique items of Sikelianos’ life and work, most of which were donated from other large museums or various collectors of the country! Exhibits include rare manuscripts of Angelos, photographs, recordings of his voice, hand-written letters between Angelos and his second wife, Anna SIkelianou, as well as her wedding dress and some of her handmade clothes!

A gem of Lefkada Island, the Angelos Sikelianos Museum has an open-air theater with a plethora of chairs and a small-sized shop, whereas it is easily and fully accessible to people with mobility impairments!
The museum is open from Monday to Saturday, and the entrance is free-of-charge for everybody.

How to get there

Angelos Sikelianos Museum is located in Lefkada Town, a 14-minute walk away from the central bus station.

Car rental: There's the option of renting a car in Lefkada and picking it up directly from Aktion Aiport (in Preveza) or your hotel. Using a rental car allows visitors to discover Angelos Sikelianos Museum and many other places of interest in Lefkada at their own pace.

Public transport: The central bus station of the island is located at Lefkada Town. There are bus connections between this station and most areas on the island. Consider that time schedules might change according to the season. Check the official timetables here.
Tip: Since buses don't always stop at every scheduled stop of their itinerary, our advice to visitors is to inform the driver about their final destination so that he makes a stop there.
