The Orpheus Folklore Museum in Lefkada: The Orpheus Folklore Museum was founded by the Musical and Literature Association Orpheus, which also runs a radio station, a choir, a musical and a theatrical school on the island of Lefkada. The museum opened its doors in 1978.
Its collections include important exhibits of objects and items from the everyday life of the Lefkadian people, e.g. dresses, tools, textiles, looms and hand-made items, among others. In addition, the Orpheus Folklore Museum has a room modified to look exactly like a traditional Lefkadian house, in order to get a better idea of the island's culture.
The Orpheus Folklore Museum is located in Lefkada Town a 14-minute walk away from the central bus station and 12 minutes from a parking lot.
Private transfers: We recommend using an online pre-booked Lefkada transfer service, which provides transfer by taxi, minibus, or private VIP car and arranging a pickup directly from Aktion Airport (in Preveza) or your hotel. There's also the option of arranging a pickup by a local driver directly at the following numbers: 0030 690 707 8138, 0030 26450 26555, or 0030 699 477 6364. Alternatively, you can book your taxi online.
Car rental: There's the option of renting a car in Lefkada and picking it up directly from Aktion Aiport (in Preveza) or your hotel. Using a rental car allows visitors to discover the Orpheus Folklore Museum and many other places of interest in Lefkada at their own pace.
Public transfers: The central bus station of the island is located at Lefkada Town. There are bus connections between this station and most areas on the island. Consider that time schedules might change according to the season. Check the official timetables here. Tip: Since buses don't always stop at every scheduled stop of their itinerary, our advice to visitors is to inform the driver about their final destination so that he makes a stop there.
