The shoulder season and the low season are good options only if you are into an alternative kind of vacation. This is not the best time if you enjoy swimming at the beach since the weather gets colder. When visiting during the autumn, you can attend the annual Trata festival which takes place in September and is a celebration dedicated to sailors and fishermen. Music, dancing and delicious fish barbeques take place for everyone to enjoy. October 28th is another national holiday with special events and celebrations.

Availability increases during the summer season and many hotels provide special offers. This is the best time to visit the island for budget traveling and the sooner you book a hotel, the better the prices are going to be.

Late autumn, winter and early spring are the least busy months for Lefkada. There are barely any tourists on the island, so this is the best time to get to know the authentic local life. As an island with a Mediterranean climate, Lefkada has mild weather, even during the winter. The biggest disadvantage is that the sea is too cold and there are not that many things to do, compared to the rest of the year.!
