Thassos is an attractive island with beautiful beaches, green landscape, and traditional architecture. As this is a place with a long history, the most interesting site in Thassos is the Ancient Agora, a site with old temples, remains of sanctuaries, an Ancient Theatre, and other buildings. Very interesting is also the Monastery of Archangel Michael, protector of the island, with a great view of the sea. Many hiking paths cross the center of Thassos, leading to old castles, mountain peaks and traditional villages, such as Panagia, Potamia and Theologos, where a nice folklore museum is found.
