The Folklore Museum in Limenaria, Thassos Greece: The Folklore Museum of Limenaria, a tourist place on the southern side of Thassos, is housed in the old building of the Community of Limenaria, in the center of the town. The museum was established in 1993 by the Cultural Association of Limenaria, whose aim is the preservation of local life on the island.
The collection of the museum includes traditional men and women costumes, weavings, kitchen utensils, stoves, wooden furniture, musical instruments, coffee-making utensils, and a traditional loom. In another side of the museum, there are tools of traditional jobs, including the tools of a tailor, a carpenter, a shoemaker, and a beekeeper. There is also distillation machinery for the production of tsipouro on display.
