Spotted right at the port of Ermoupolis, the National Resistance Monument in Syros has been a symbol of the island since 1992, given its historical background and the views it provides over the town!
The monument is a work of the Greek sculptor Efstathios Leontis and depicts a grandiose statue of Nike holding a wreath of victory and a large sword! It is about 16 meters tall and symbolizes the fight of the Greeks against their conquerors during the Second World War.
