The stone-built church of Agios Dimitrios in Syros is located at a scenic spot right outside the town of Ermoupoli, close to Ano Syros and the Vaporia Quarter! This is a three-arched church with a large dome, angular designs, and beautiful decorations over its main entrance, created after a believer found an icon of Agios Dimitrios in that exact location in 1936!
The church boasts a small double-bell tower looking over the Aegean Sea. In addition, guests may also marvel at its gorgeous interiors, featuring a gilded chandelier, a large iconostasis, and a plethora of seats for visitors.
The church is open from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00 every day!
