Rethymno Agios Pavlos beach

General information

Agios Pavlos Beach can be found near the tip of Melissa Cape. The waters present shades of green and blue, and the deep, rocky seabed is ideal for snorkeling. It is organized with essential tourist amenities, including umbrellas, sunbeds, and pedal boats you can ride. Around the area, you will find a few pleasant taverns and nice rooms to let. On the hill above the shore stands the church of Agios Pavlos, dedicated to Saint Paul, who is believed to have lived there during his journey to Rome.

It is recommended that you get to the beach by car, as the area is not connected to the rest of Crete by bus. The drive from Rethymno Town is about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
