There are only ferries from Piraeus, the main port of Athens and Heraklion, in Crete. A ferry to Chania from Piraeus can be day or overnight and the trip takes about 7 hours.
In summer, there is also a ferry from Chania Crete, in particular from the small port of Kissamos in western Chania, from Gythio town in Peloponnese, passing from Kythira and Antikythira islands. This ferry to Chania usually works only in summer.
