General information

Marmara Beach is a small complex of beaches formed by the area’s mountainous terrain and small coves in Sfakia Village of Chania. The beach is situated on the edge of the Aradena Gorge, 5 km west of the coastal village of Loutro. Marmara can only be reached by hiking through the Aradena Gorge, which takes less than two hours from Sfakia, or by taking a small boat from the port of Loutro, with frequent trips in the summer.

The complex of beaches consists of the main beach and a number of smaller caves. The whole complex is surrounded by towering hills and rich vegetation. Next to the main pebbly beach with its turquoise waters, visitors will find a large boulder, under which they will see the picturesque coves of Marmara with various layouts and differently-colored waters! Moreover, the main shore is organized, and you can find a small traditional tavern with local dishes next to it!
