General Description
During this tour, we’ll explore the center of Athens and the famous Acropolis, discovering both modern and ancient sites.
Along with our expert guides, you’ll visit the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896 (brief stop).
Then we’ll pass by the old Royal Palace, which today houses the Greek Parliament and it is guarded by the Evzones in their traditional colorful uniforms. Right in front of the Parliament there is the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier. We will also see the Presidential Residence, the amazing Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian's Arch.
A few meters away, at Panepistimiou Ave, we’ll have the chance to see the three famous Neoclassical buildings of the Academy, the University, and the National Library.
After visiting the center of Athens, we’ll head to the famous site of the Acropolis, the renowned masterpiece of classical Athens. We’ll climb up the Holy Rock and visit the Propylaea, the temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and, of course, the Parthenon.
There, we’ll marvel at the city and sea view from the top of the Acropolis. Right opposite the Holy Rock, lies the New Acropolis Museum, a marvelous building where we will admire the archaeological findings from the Acropolis that are hosted.
