Operated by two experts in fine dining, chefs Giannis Loukakis and Spiros Pediaditakis, Akra is a unique restaurant in the heart of Pagrati near the iconic Proskopon Square! Best known for their restaurants and pastry workshops in Thessaloniki, Loukakis and Pediaditakis created Akra with a couple of innovative ideas in mind; blending the kitchen and sitting areas altogether and boasting a new menu every day! Akra’s motto is focusing on fresh, seasonal, and high-quality ingredients while aiming to minimize food waste, instead choosing to integrate as many of the ingredients as possible.
Examples of past dishes include combining seafood, fish, or flavorful meat (like lamb or pork) with a variety of vegetables and delicacies, such as artichokes, fresh bread, sour cheese from Syros, pea puree, zucchini, radishes, and juicy tomatoes! Moreover, you can choose to accompany your meal by selecting a bottle of wine from the short list of available bottles, most of which are organic, while some are fermented in special tanks just for the customers of Akra! Last but not least, it is highly recommended that you try one of the top-tier desserts from chef Pediaditakis, like a caramelized tart or a bowl of ice cream with fresh, local milk and a handmade chocolate mousse!
Akra is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 23:00, Sunday from 10:00 to 17:30, and Monday from 17:00 to 23:00.
