In brief, Skiathos International Airport receives direct flights from the capital of Greece, Athens, and multiple European destinations, most of which are available through the high season.

The International Airport of Skiathos (IATA code: JSI, ICAO: LGSK), also known as Alexandros Papadiamantis, is a decently-sized airport, spotted in northeastern Skiathos. It is mere minutes away from the capital Skiathos Town, as well as close to a handful of seaside settlements.

Initially constructed and open to the public in 1972, the airport has seen renovation work in 2002 and 2019.

The island receives direct commercial and charter flights from European destinations, as well as from Athens (ATH). Flights from Athens are operated by Aegean Airlines (and sub-company Olympic Air) and Sky Express.

How to get to & leave the airport

The airport is only a couple of kilometers away from Skiathos Town, meaning transportation is optional if you want to stay in the capital, though in order to reach other spots of the island, you may need a means of transport.

Public buses

Buses are an inexpensive option for moving around key spots around the island. They help connect the airport with the port every half an hour, as well as the capital with Koukounaries and all in-between settlements, including Troulos, Platanias, and Katsaros.
Tickets are available before boarding from specific spots around the island, while the airport's bus station can be spotted outside of the terminals.

Tip: Should you use public transport, it would be better to notify the driver before your stop.
If you are unaware of where your bus stop is, inform the driver in advance about where you are heading, and they will proceed to stop at your destination.

Transfers and Taxis

Visitors will find taxis right outside of the airport, as well as in the Town. If you want to leave the premises shortly after landing, you can contact a local transfer service!
