General information

A semi-mountainous village near northern Corfu, Skripero is situated at an altitude of about 130 meters, boasting incredible views of the nearby villages and their surroundings! It showcases an abundance of old, Venetian-style mansion buildings that now house a local high school, the School Museum of Corfu, and the fascinating Philharmonic Society of Skripero, first established in 1909!

Skripero is also known as karlakochori, which translates to "village of frogs" due to a frog-eating tradition that still holds to this day. Furthermore, the village features a grocery store, a gas station, a bakery, a pharmacy, as well as a handful of cozy restaurants/taverns and cafeterias. Moreover, visitors will find plenty of church buildings and monasteries in Skripero, such as Agios Onoufrios, Agia Barbara, Vlaherna/Agios Stefanos, and Panagia Liviotissa!
