The four traditional windmills of Chios are among the island's most famous landmarks.
They are located 1.5 km north of Chios Town, in the area of Tampakika and to get there you will have to follow the main road to Vrontados from the town.
Overlooking the sea, the windmills that once were a part of the island's industrial past are currently a very photogenic place to go and catch the sunset.
They were constructed sometime during the late 19th century and they have been fully restored.
Each 2-storey windmill is stone-built and almost 10 meters tall, with a storage room.
