General information

Stretching along Amoopi Bay, close to the homonymous settlement, Votsalakia is a magnificent pebbly beach with pristine waters that take on a variety of azure and turquoise hues. The sea bottom is, at places, covered with stones, while a stunning rock formation juts out of the sea right in front of the beach. Thus, it is no wonder why Votsalakia stands out as one of the very best snorkeling spots on the island, affording a unique glimpse of Karpathos’ rich marine life.

It is separated from the neighboring Megali Amoopi Beach through a small peninsula, on top of which stands the chapel of Agioi Apostoli. If you’re looking for the best views of Votsalakia and the surrounding hills, all you have to do is take a stroll on this small headland.

Being lined with cliffs, the beach itself is quite narrow. Nevertheless, it is well-organized and is filled with umbrellas and sun decks, which take up its greatest part. It is good to bear in mind that bringing along water shoes might be a good idea in order to enjoy this beach to the fullest. Close to the beach, you will find beach bars and nice taverns, in which to enjoy delicious Karpathian specialties, while, in the wider area, there are also plenty of rental apartments, studios and villas.
