Unlike other islands in the Dodecanese, such as Kos and Rhodes, Kalymnos is not particularly famed for its vibrant nightlife. Despite that, the island does boast some fun night-time venues and activities as well as plenty of more relaxed options sure to satisfy all types of visitors.

Most of the nightlife of Kalymnos is concentrated in Pothia, the capital and port of the island. A series of restaurants, bars, and cafes line the waterfront, offering authentic Mediterranean dishes, refreshing drinks, and impeccable sceneries. Some bars and nightclubs stay open until the early morning hours, creating a fun party atmosphere accompanied by loud music and delicious cocktails.

Many lounge bars can be found in most other touristy areas on the island, including Panormos and Emporio. The beaches of Myrties are also dotted with wonderful beach bars playing all the latest chart-toppers for some lively summer nights. For a more peaceful experience, enjoy a local dinner in the many taverns around the island, some of which host live performances of traditional music.
