Religious feasts & festivals
August 29th
The feast of Agios Ioannis on 29th of August. The day before, the monastery serves lamb to the visitors and the pilgrims and preparations are made by the local women for the big feast.
April 23rd
Another notable celebration is organized to honor Agios Georgios, on the 23rd of April, in the nearby islet of Alimia. A small chapel dedicated to the saint exists there and every year locals go there to perform a Holy Mass.
Cultural events
The cultural identity of Halki is shown through the summer events including concerts and art exhibitions. The island embraces all visitors with the glorious welcome.
