Location: Kambos Don't miss: Museums guide (free admission dates and other useful info)
The Costas Tsoclis Museum is located in the village of Kambos, about 7.5 km north of Tinos Town. It is housed in the former local primary school, which has been fully renovated according to the traditional Cycladic standards.
Most of the artwork pieces exhibited in this museum are creations of Costas Tsoclis. Every year a new rotation of his works is displayed, bringing visitors into close contact with Costas’ unique artistic catalog. The sculpture of Saint George slaying the dragon is a permanent fixture proudly displayed in the courtyard, distinguished for the blend of classical elements and modern tendencies. There are also references to the work of other artists, with whom he has followed parallel paths.
In order to introduce contemporary art to the general public, the museum organizes various activities relating to all forms of art. Lectures, seminars, screenings in the outdoor area, and performances in the Theater of Koumaros are just some examples. Moreover, a special program for the vision-impaired was created in cooperation with the Tactual Museum of Athens and the Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece, promoting the idea that everyone should have the chance to get acquainted with art.
The museum operates every day except for Tuesday from the 1st of June till the 30th of September. It is also open for a few hours a day during the Easter season.
