The Folklore Museum of Kaloxylos village offers the opportunity to learn more about the local history and culture. It operates under the auspices of UNESCO and is housed in a beautiful neoclassical building.
The museum exhibits everyday life objects that date back to the 19th and 20th centuries.

Mr. Florios Chorianopoulos dedicated around 20 years of his life to collecting valuable items from all over the island relating to the culture, customs, and history of Naxos. He will be your tour guide for as long as you stay in the museum and inform you about the exhibits.

Farming tools, kitchen and house appliances, old currency, and stamps are part of the collection.

In the same building, you will encounter the island's only traditional rope-making factory and a grocery store established in 1935.

Kaloxylos Folklore Museum cannot be missed as it offers a trip back to the island's past and an insight into fascinating aspects of the traditions of Naxos!

The museum is open every day of the week from 9:00 to 17:00.
