Naxos Kaloxylos Folklore Museum

Location: Kaloxylos

The Folklore Museum of Kaloxylos village offers the opportunity to learn more about the local history and culture. Housed in a beautiful neoclassical building, the museum exhibits everyday life objects that date back to the 19th and 20th centuries.
Farming tools, kitchen and house appliances, old currency and stamps are included in the collection among other items.

In the same building you will also find the island's only traditional rope-making factory and a 1935's grocery store.

The museum is open every day of the week, from 9:00 to 16:00.

Kaloxylos Folklore Museum cannot be missed as it offers a trip back to the island's past and an insight into fascinating aspects of the traditions of Naxos! It is under the auspices of UNESCO.
