Take this tour from Mykonos and discover the neighboring island of Tinos. The meeting point is the New Port of Mykonos (Tourlos) at 12:00 am. The ferry to Tinos departs at 12:45.
After a 45 min boat trip, we arrive at the port of Tinos, where a modern, air-conditioned bus is waiting for us. We drive over a long pilgrim avenue and at the end of the road, we find the famous church of Virgin Mary Evangelistria, whose holy icon is believed to be wonder-working. Dressing to enter this church must be modest for both men and women.
After our visit, we get on board the bus and start exploring the countryside of Tinos island. First, we stop at the 16th-century Monastery of Kechrovouni, at an altitude of 500m, where Saint Pelagia used to live. The next stop is the village of Ktikados, where we can have lunch in a local tavern with breathtaking views (lunch not included in the price).
After lunch, we continue our bus tour to Exobourgo Mountain, where a strong Venetian Castle was situated. On the other side of the mountain, we find the Catholic villages of Tinos. We stop at the Medieval village of Volax, famous for its basket making, where we can walk around the streets and have a coffee break.
We continue the bus tour through the agricultural region of Komi and stop to see the beautiful lemon groves, before driving over the panoramic road with breathtaking views of Tinos Town and the sea. We drive past the valley of the pigeon houses with the old Medieval style and then we walk through the village of Tarabados.
Afterward, we return to Tinos Town, where we will have free time for a stroll before meeting at the port.
The ferry from Tinos departs at 21:30 pm and arrives in Mykonos at 22:15 pm.
