Kythnos is connected to two of the ports of Athens, Piraeus and Lavrio in particular. Crossings from Lavrio are more frequent, are available daily in summer, and last 2 hours in average.
Piraeus is located closer to the city center, while Lavrio lies closer to the International Airport of Athens.
The island is connected with other islands of the Cyclades complex as well, including Serifos, Sifnos, Milos, Kimolos, Folegandros, and Ios, among others.
