How to get to Iraklia?

Since Iraklia is a quite small and secluded island, it is accessible only by ferry from Athens (Piraeus port) and some ports around the Aegean sea.
The closest airport is located on Naxos island which only received domestic flights from Athens and a ferry connection is available from there.

Travel by Ferry

Iraklia can be reached from Athens, as there is a ferry connection between Iraklia and Piraeus port, approximately 3 times per week. However, the trip lasts almost 7 hours.
The island is also linked with some nearby islands of the Cyclades, like Paros and Naxos.
From Naxos and Amorgos there is a local ferry, named Express Skopelitis, which departs for Iraklia and the rest of the islands of the small Cyclades group almost every day.

Flights to nearby islands

There is no airport on the island of Iraklia. The closest one is the Naxos National Airport which receives domestic flights from Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos".
The trip from Athens to Naxos by plane lasts about half an hour. The airport does not receive any flights from abroad.
The airport is located close to Agios Prokopios, about 3 km away from Naxos Town. From Naxos, you can easily reach Iraklia by ferry within an hour and a half.
