Heraklion Koudoumas beach

In front of the Koudoumas Monastery lies a lovely shore of the same name - Koudoumas Beach. It is covered in gray and brown sand and fine pebbles, boasting dazzling, crystalline azure waters. It’s a quiet and tranquil spot, ideal for those who prefer to isolate themselves and avoid the big crowds of popular destinations. It is important to point out that, due to its proximity to the monastery, nudism is not allowed.

The beach is not organized with tourist amenities, so it is essential that you bring everything you need with you. You won’t find any food or accommodation choices within walking distance either, but if you’re feeling adventurous, you can spend the night at one of the caves on the eastern side of the coast.
