Travel Information about Sikinos island Greece, Cyclades: A small island of Cyclades, between Ios and Folegandros, Sikinos island has not developed in tourism and has managed to keep its traditional character untouched. With the most picturesque Chora in Cyclades and many remote beaches to relax on your own, Sikinos is the paradise of hikers and naturists.

The white cube houses, paved streets and small churches mark the traditional architecture of Chora, the only village on Sikinos island, built amphitheatrically on the slopes of a hill.

Few houses can also be found around the port, but they mostly consist of tourist accommodation that come alive only in summer. The landscape of Sikinos is hilly and has low vegetation. Many hiking trails cross the island making it a great place for trekking. Suggested routes are from the port to beaches and from Chora to the ancient site of Episkopi.

The beaches of Sikinos are mostly remote and unorganized. The only organized beach with umbrellas, sunbeds and fish taverns is found close to the port. The other beaches can be reached on foot or by boat. Visitors will discover many secret coves to swim in total privacy. Sandy or pebbled, these coves have crystal water and few vegetation for shade. Tourist facilities are few on Sikinos island, but they are enough for the limited number of tourists.
