Folegandros Greece is an enchanting little island of the Cyclades group, in the Aegean Sea. It is located between Paros and Santorini. It is one of those Greek Islands where you can go to relax. It hasn’t been impacted by mass tourism and still holds its traditions and character. The most impressive thing about Folegandros is the spectacular landscape. There are several small villages, but the capital and the port town Karavostasi is where most of the accomodations and entertainment are found.

:: Villages

The villages of Folegandros are characteristic by the way they have kept their traditional look and feel. The houses are typical Cycladic style with the whitewashed walls and the colorful windows and doors. The houses are situated along narrow cobblestone paved streets and alleys. One of the most impressive areas to see is Chora and its castle (Kastro). There is also Pano Meria and Karavostasi.

:: The beaches

The tranquil island of Folegandros is surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the Cyclades. The impressive landscape of the island with its cliffs and rock formations makes for a nice setting, not to forget the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea. The most famous are Agali, Agios Georgios and Ambeli.

Folegandros Island does have an active nightlife. It mostly consists of cozy little bars, restaurants and a dance club or two. It is concentrated in Folegandros Town and the port Karavostasi.
