Villages
It is a mountainous island. It has many lovely and picturesque villages with whitewashed
houses, narrow bright coloured windows and doors
and slate or tile roofs like: Apiranthos, Apollonas, Halki, Potamia, Koronos, Tripodes and others. The capital of the island, Hora,
is a big and unique village in Greece. It has a well-preserved Venetian castle and it is full of beautiful
whitewashed houses with small windows, surrounded by stone-paved
narrow alleys.

All beaches have superb crystal-clear turquoise waters
which are glimmering under the bright Mediterranean sun.
